Is compassion beyond attachment? Development (of compassion) is necessary to experience compassion. Superficial (hypothetical) attachment will not bear it? Be well

You mean we must wait til we lose all attachments in order to exercise compassion?
I don't think that's what Rinpoche was saying.

Yes, you have it: development of compassion ... like development of profound relaxation. We must always start with the beginning!

And thanks ... I'm actually pretty well right now!

Glad to hear you are feeling well.
By beyond, I mean is compassion strong enough of a force to break the bonds of attachment. A true experience of compassion makes more sense than the grip on reality. Awareness of compassion should shine light on the darkness of ego/attachment. What I am getting at is how compassion can be developed.
